I want to cut my long hair but I can’t decide if I should go really short – how can I make sure I make the right choice?- Jing, 24 PDF Print E-mail

Try it on. Visit a wig shop – it’s the only way to get to see what you’ll look like without committing to it. You can also try cutting your hair several levels – cut a medium amount first before cutting it shorter. See if you like the results, and if you don’t like it, at least you won’t have to wait as long for it to grow to it’s original length.

Let the stylist know you Tell your stylist how often you work out and how much time you have in the morning to style and maintain your hair. Your stylist needs to know these things to ensure the selected haircut supports your daily lifestyles and doesn’t become troublesome for you. If those beautifully cut layers are going to wind up in a ponytail, they’re probably not right for you.

Keep in mind Why do you want to have your hair cut? If time and convenience are your only reason for wanting to grow back your hair – then cutting your hair shorter is probably not your best option. If it’s a idol’s hair you want to mimic, you might want to reconsider as well, as what suits him or her may not be suitable for you. You can always cut off more hair, but your hair isn’t going to grow back in an instant – so consider your options before cutting off your hair. The main reason for you to cut your hair should be to feel good about yourself.
