As the saying goes, you are what you eat. It’s possible to lose weight by changing your diet, but for best results, you’ll need to do at least some exercise. Keeping a food diary is one of the most effective methods to assist your weight-loss mission. Write down everything you’ve eaten everyday. This automatically forces you to watch what you eat. Replace your regular carbs intake with either more complex carbs or fibre such as fruits and vegetables. Examples of regular carbs are white rice, noodles, pasta and white bread while examples of complex carbs would be brown rice, wholemeal bread and wholewheat or multi-grain pasta. Switch all sodas or sweet drinks to water and you’ll be surprised what a difference that makes to your waistline. You don’t actually need to step into the gym to exercise. Exercising regularly can take many forms: walking up the stairs of the overhead bridge to cross the road or even walking from the bus stop to work in your 4-inch stilettos. Make the most out of this “non-workout” exercise regime by taking the stairs instead of the lift whenever you can, or walking the longer route home in the evenings.
