My job requires me to wear proper office wear to the office – how do I pick the right office skirts and pants for my wardrobe? – Carrie, 24 PDF Print E-mail

Skirt:
The general rule for office skirts is to pick one that is not too short and too tight. Go for anything at least 2 fingers above the knee or longer.

Petite: If you have a straight and petite figure, go for skirts that look more structured to enhance your figure. Peplum skirts can also make your hips look wider and give you more of an hourglass figure. Pencil skirts are also a great way to make you look sharp and professional.

Full-Figured: Curvy women should pick skirts that follow the contours of their body. If you have it, flaunt it. Pick a skirt with a wide waistband to hold your tummy in and choose a material that allows stretching like cotton. Make sure the skirt tapers down to give you a shapelier figure.

Pants:
You almost can’t go wrong with picking pants to wear if your office has a formal setting.

Petite: Look out for slim straight-cut pants that can make your legs look longer. If you want more length then avoid pleated pants, pants that taper in or anything with cuffs as they would make your legs look shorter.

Full-Figured: Boot-cut pants with a wide waistband would allow your body to look more proportionate. If you have a full booty then make sure the pants you buy don’t have protruding pockets that would draw more attention to your rear and make it look frumpy.
