My makeup never lasts me more than three hours, what can I do to make it stay longer? – Karen, 24 PDF Print E-mail

The secret to longer lasting eye makeup is to layer your products. Here’s how you can do it.

  1. Build your base: A good primer will help your eye makeup stay in place. A regular concealer which works almost as well as a primer, but don’t use foundation on your eyes – if it’s too moist your shadow will slide off.

  1. Add cream: A thin layer of cream shadow helps the powder adhere better to your skin. It works the same as a lip liner before lipstick. Choose a colour close to your natural skin tone.

  1. Set the look: Dust the entire eye area with powder blush, translucent powder or bronzer. This adds an extra layer of hold and bring your makeup together without changing the colour of your eye makeup.

On a clean face, rub ice cubes and then pat dry. Then apply the primer, foundation and powder.
